About Our Behavioral Health Clinical Care and Treatment Services
All of our behavioral health units provide quality care through a combination of services including group, family & recreational therapy. Individual therapy sessions can also be provided. Patients will also receive medication management, individualized multi-disciplinary treatment planning, individualized discharge planning, and post-discharge wellness checks. Each patient is assessed at critical timeframes using evidence-based tools to ensure patient safety, and receive consistent support from our clinical team. Our interdisciplinary team includes:

Behavioral Health Programs
Behavioral Health Emergency Care
This 4-bed Emergency Room is prepared to receive patients in mental health crisis, and maintains safety with specialized behavioral health rooms and increased levels of observation.
Inpatient Programs at Largo Medical Center
This 14-bed unit provides treatment for those in need of acute psychiatric care. As part of a patient's individualized treatment plan, they will be assigned to a private room for personal comfort, and clinical care is provided in the least restrictive and intensive setting necessary.
Our Intensive Treatment Unit
This 12-bed unit provides treatment for those needing higher intensity of treatment services in a low stimulation environment.
Our General Adult Psychiatry Unit
This 33-bed unit provides care for those 18 years of age and older utilizing a mutli-disciplinary approach that incorporates Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP).
Our Senior Care Unit
This 12-bed unit provides care to our senior population, ages 55+. The staff members on this unit are certified and provide sensory-oriented treatment and additional assistance with activities of daily living.
Our Medical Behavioral Unit
This 6-bed medical unit provides care for patients with a primary medical diagnosis, with a secondary psychiatric. Psychitatric consult is necessary for admission, and all nurses on this unit are telemetry certified.

Outpatient Programs at Largo Medical Center
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
In this outpatient program, patients are provided a safe, therapeutic environment while working with staff that encourage and promote recovery. This program can help as an initial point of care, a step up from routine outpatient services, or a step down from an inpatient stay or residential care. Group therapy is offered and focuses on coping skills, assertiveness skills, goal setting, and co-occurring disorders. Patients receive 3 hours of treatment per day, for 3 days a week, are are seen by a psychiatrist.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Group members participate in four groups each day with an emphasis on mental health and coping. The groups focus on a variety of subjects designed to aid patients in understanding and managing their symptoms in a more effective manner. Individuals receive ongoing monitoring and treatment from a Psychiatrist, Registered Nurse, and Licensed Therapist. Lunch is provided during the program, along with some light snacks and coffee.
24-Hour Help Line
This line is answered 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Staff will perform an initial patient screening, and with nursing staff, will complete the patient intake and collaborate with the referring facility to determine if admission is required. Staff will coordinate admission to an appropriate unit, obtain admission orders, and work with the referring facility to arrange patient transportation.
