The Florida Bariatric Centers at Largo Medical Center is proud to announce it has received a prestigious national accreditation from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement (MBSAQIP) for the surgical treatment of severe obesity and its related conditions.
"I am proud of Largo Medical Center's team of employees and physicians who continue to work closely together to provide and support quality initiatives and patient safety efforts for metabolic and bariatric surgery patients," said Tiffany Jessee-Wylie, DO, Medical Director, Florida Bariatric Centers at Largo Medical Center.
The hospital is accredited as a Comprehensive Center under MBSAQIP®. MBSAQIP® is a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). The MBSAQIP® Standards, outlined in the Resources for Optimal Care of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Patient 2014, ensure bariatric surgical patients receive a multidisciplinary program, not just a surgical procedure, which improves patient outcomes and long-term success. This accredited program offers preoperative and postoperative care designed specifically for their severely obese patients.
"Largo Medical Center's commitment to quality bariatric care begins with appropriately trained staff and surgeons who participate in meetings throughout the year to review surgical procedures," said Anthony Degina, CEO, Largo Medical Center.
