Whether you are recovering from a cardiac event, or simply wish to improve your physical fitness, Largo Medical Center can help you reach your goal.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is designed for people who have heart disease. Cardiac Rehabilitation helps the patient to:
- Recover after a heart attack, open heart surgery, angioplasty and other interventions.
- Learn about heart disease treatment and medications.
- Reduce the potential of additional heart problems through risk factor modification.
- Learn how to recognize heart symptoms and know when to seek treatment
Cardiac Rehabilitation participants are scheduled three times per week for up to 36 sessions. Treatment and exercise programs are customized based on the needs of the individual.
Specifically trained staff place participants in a program of exercise and education based on the individual’s diagnosis and need. Largo Medical Center staff carefully supervises patients during their session with the use of cardiac monitoring.
