Rotations & Call Schedule
Residents complete a 5 year educational program. Working hours are generally 7 am to 7 pm, or until clinical and didactic responsibilities are completed. Residents receive a total of 20 days of paid time off which can be used for vacation, personal needs, and holidays.
The surgical call schedule is created by the Senior Resident. Call is assigned on a weekly basis with Resident responsible for the weekend and week preceding the weekend. Responsibilities include coverage of the in-house general surgical cases as well as coverage of the emergency medicine department. The Resident is not required to stay in house during the call period.
