Largo, FL The Graduate Medical Education (GME) program at Largo Medical Center is proud to announce its first official class of graduates. Nineteen doctors will graduate from the program; ten interns, seven residents, and two fellows. "As we complete the first full year of the Largo Medical Center GME Program, it is indeed a pleasure to recognize the individuals who have completed an internship, residency or fellowship and thus have earned the right to enter into practice or pursue additional training," said Richard Satcher, President and CEO of Largo Medical Center.
The GME program at Largo Medical Center is the largest osteopathic (D.O.) teaching program in the southeastern United States. It is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to train doctors in the following:

- Anesthesiology Residency
- Dermatology Residency
- Family Practice Residency
- Internal Medicine Residency
- General Surgery Residency
- Rheumatology Fellowship
- Interventional Cardiology
- Cardiology Fellowship
- Gastroenterology Fellowship
- Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship

The graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Largo Cultural Center at 4 p.m. Special guests attending include State Representative Jim Frishe, Largo Chamber of Commerce President Tom Morrissette, and Dean Joseph S. De Gaetano, DO, MSEd from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
